James (Jim) Sullivan

Obituary

James (Jim) Sullivan passed away on September 12, 2021, at the age of 92 at Brampton Civic Hospital. Jim arrived in Canada in 1953 from Dublin, Ireland and he worked as a welder at De Havilland Aircraft his entire career. He had many interests over the course of his life including amateur theatre, scuba diving, experimental aircraft building, spending time at his cabin in the Canadian wilderness and his lifelong passion for painting landscapes and still life. Jim is survived by his partner of many years, Susan Rogers, his children Ann Brown and Jimmy Sullivan, his grandchild and her husband, Diana Varma and Adam Varma and his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Hannah Varma. He is also survived by his sister in Ireland, Marie Meleady, and his many nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his warm smile, extraordinary sense of humour and his unwavering ability to tell a great story. We raise a pint of Guinness to you, Great Grandaddy!

A private gathering will be held, at a later date for immediate family.

The family would like to thank all of people who were so kind and cared for Jim while he spent time at both Brampton Civic and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospitals.
